You can cut strips from brown plastic bottles, make a fringe on them with scissors from one edge and wrap the stem. It is easy to fix the strips if you melt one (on the cut edge) and press it against the stem - it will simply “weld”.
You can “plant” these crafts for the garden on a flower bed with irises: if the foliage dries up in tulips, then in irises it is green until the very cold.
