Mini country house with your own hands. Minidom (domillion) - a small house for permanent residence

The high cost of housing in the modern world forces talented people to look for a way out. One of the easiest ways to build the cheapest house, of course, is to downsize it.

Therefore, among other architectural trends, the concept of a mini-house is now actively developing. The term "mini-house" does not only mean from the word small, mini is an architectural style of minimalism. This is a house in which there are no corridors, in which every room is multifunctional, in which there is a very thoughtful layout and you can practically reach the things you need without leaving your spot.

Let's look at several mini-houses (also called tiny house, little house, cabine - tiny houses, small houses, cabins) developed abroad, and then move on to the proposal from the DKMK plant

Mini house trailer

This tiny house has a cute, rustic look and brings quite a few smiles to everyone's faces.

And this mini house was assembled by an American student from old spare parts and waste building materials from a landfill. However, the creation of this residential trailer with all the amenities and furniture of about 16 square meters cost $12,000 (approximately 740,000 rubles at today's exchange rate).

Mini house with an area of 15 square meters

This house has only fifteen square meters of area, not counting the veranda, and in fact, there are only two rooms: a tiny toilet and a combined living room-kitchen-dining room-bedroom. Despite its modest size, it will be a comfortable home for a single person, a group of tourists or fishermen... provided that it is warm.

Such a house can also serve as housing for newlyweds - here is the same house in white.

Dwelle mini house concept

One of the most thoughtful mini-houses is presented by the architectural company Dwelle. It has been designed in several versions, from a very tiny cabin for one or two people measuring 3x6, to a quite comfortable large mini-house four meters wide and at least seven meters long.

This is what this wonderful mini house looks like, installed in the forest.

Purpose of a mini-house

The main advantage of a mini house is, first of all, its low price, and secondly, its compactness, comfort and convenience of the home. A mini house must have public amenities: electricity, cold and hot water, a toilet and the ability to wash. This distinguishes a mini house from a garden or country house.

As you understand, due to its very small size, any mini-house serves as housing either for one or two people for a long time, or for three or four, but only for a few days.

Thus, a mini house can serve as:

  • mini-house for permanent residence,
  • house for pensioners,
  • house of a young couple or students
  • country house
  • house for a recreation center, camp site,
  • guest House,
  • extension to the main house

Architectural solutions for mini houses

A typical solution for a mini house is not only horizontal, but also vertical zoning of the room. For example, on the second floor - in Russian speaking, polati - there is a sleeping area, and the dining-living room is located below.

Mini-houses for permanent residence from the DKMK plant

Firstly, minidom "Brigitta"- a house for 540 thousand in a dacha version easily becomes a home for permanent residence at a price of 695 thousand rubles. This cost includes a reliable foundation, installation of utilities throughout the house, and finishing of walls and ceilings with plasterboard and joint putty for wallpaper. And porcelain tiles on the floor in the bathroom. And installation of the shower cabin, sink and toilet chosen and purchased by you.

An analogue of Brigitte is the slightly more budget domilion "Eve"

.

Secondly, this is a Finnish house according to the Rowan project, 6x6 in size, with a usable area of more than 30 square meters and costing about 960 thousand rubles.

Layout of a mini house measuring 6x6 "Rowan"

Thirdly, you can choose the “Alice” house, measuring 6x6 on one floor, which costs about 1 million rubles for a usable area of 48 square meters! Just admit it honestly, is it possible to buy an apartment measuring 48 square meters in Yekaterinburg for one million rubles?

Fourthly, you can choose the Nadezhda house, measuring 8x4 on one floor, which costs about 920,000 rubles for a usable area of 28 square meters plus a wonderful veranda!

Quality is more important than size. Most likely, these are the words that guide people who review small house designs and decide to build them. In fact, there can be a huge number of reasons for building a small house: some decide to save a little on building materials, others want to stand out from the general background of classic houses and surprise their neighbors with their taste and originality.

Is there accurate information about how many square meters will make a person happy? It’s hard to disagree with the fact that a small house can look attractive, and sometimes even fabulous.

Why are tiny houses popular?

Small private houses are becoming more and more popular every year, which is mainly due to the fact that people decide to make their lives simpler, but brighter.

To meet the needs of young people, designs for small houses are constantly being improved in various ways, and today a real breakthrough has occurred - designers, together with designers, have turned small houses into a single style, calling it eco-life.

In the United States of America there are already several companies whose main specialization is beautiful small houses built on an area of ten to fifty square meters.

It’s hard to believe that you can really fit all the necessary things in such a small area, but this is true. With a small area, it is very important to pay due attention to the organization of the internal space so that it is used as efficiently as possible.

Young people, of course, are no strangers to living in real Spartan conditions. For them, the main thing is to have a roof over their heads when it rains.

Many of the students have already appreciated the interesting work of the popular architect Van Bo Le Mentzel, whose house seems to lack only one thing - a rope so that it can be carried with you when traveling. His houses look so unusual that people even come from other cities to see him live.

It is worth noting that the largest area of this type of house is approximately 40 sq.m., however, in practice, almost all buildings are much smaller. In addition to the attractive price, buyers are also lured by the interior of a small house, which is usually incredibly neat and comfortable.

Looking through photos of small houses, you can see one of the most original options proposed by Californian artist Gregory Kloehn. Almost all of his houses are made from either trash containers or recycled materials, and after construction, he hands over the keys to them not only to buyers, but also to the homeless.

Not all home owners are happy with their minimal living conditions, so they try to make the most of small rooms, resorting to the use of modern technologies.

In this regard, it is impossible not to mention the Egg House, built by dmvA. It accommodates a kitchen, a bathroom, a bed, as well as several niches in which it will be convenient to store various things. When opening the nose of the house, it can be used as a very ordinary veranda.

Bedroom design in a small house

One of the most important rooms in the house, regardless of its size, is the room in which you fall asleep and wake up. After all, the bedroom is the place where you can restore your strength after a difficult day at work. Of course, it is much more pleasant to spend precious and long-awaited hours of rest on a comfortable bed in a room where you can also arrange all the most important things.

Even if the room is very small, it is necessary that it be equipped according to all the requirements of the homeowners. There is no need to worry if the design of a small house allows only a bed to be placed in the room, since in this case you can use wall cabinets instead of the usual cabinets installed near the bed.

It is worth noting that the fewer various distracting things in the room, the better you will be able to relax in it and restore strength for the next fruitful day.

If there is a little more space, then it is better to opt for a medium-sized bed. In this case, the space you save can be used as additional storage systems. This is especially important in houses and apartments with a small area.

How to arrange a kitchen in a small house?

Cooking is an integral daily process for any woman. Even if the size of the room is quite modest, it will be necessary to prepare food, so it is important to use every centimeter effectively.

When choosing a kitchen set, special attention should be paid to ensuring that each cabinet has its own purpose and performs its functions.

If a separate room was not allocated for the kitchen during the construction of the house, then it is worth using any free space. For example, to place various kitchen attributes, you can use the passage area located next to the exit from the house.

When space is limited, country houses do not have to be filled with huge kitchen units. Today, in almost any hardware store you can find excellent helpers, namely, high-quality hanging shelves and rails at an affordable price.

Bathroom design in small houses

Having a bathroom is always a necessity. Even if there is very little space, it is very important to create an atmosphere that will truly promote relaxation.

In order to use space ergonomically, you should never clutter the room with various non-essential items.

It is better to turn to brands of sanitary ware and bathroom furniture that offer excellent solutions, such as shelving installed directly above the toilet.

You can build a small house made of wood yourself in a short time, since it will require quite a few materials, as well as free space. It is worth noting that such houses are very often built not for themselves, but for guests.

The interior of a small house can be the most ordinary - use more wooden furniture in the design, pay attention to interesting ideas for storing a wide variety of small things, and in order for the rooms to have the right accents, use accessories in bright colors.

Photos of small houses

Today, more than ever, people are drawn to the land and country life, urban overpopulation is bearing fruit, and people by nature want peace of mind and unity with nature. You can reunite with nature and relax outside the city at your summer cottage.

But what if you recently bought a bare and empty piece of land? The first thing you need to do is build a small house so that you have a place to change clothes, eat and lie down to rest after working in the garden.

And so let's look at one option presented by the author, how he built his country house.

Materials
1. blocks 200x400x200
2. board 30 mm
3. timber 40x40
4. insulation
5. lining
6. soft tiles
7. roofing material
8. insulation

Tools
1. hacksaw
2. hammer
3. jigsaw
4. screwdriver
5. shovel
6. ax
7. roulette
8. petrol generator (if there is no electricity)

The process of building a country house with your own hands.
A country house or cabin serves the owners until they have built a large house for permanent residence, or when only temporary housing is required without permanent residence, to store equipment, change clothes, shelter from bad weather that takes them by surprise and spend the night in case of emergency if the car breaks down or buses they don't go anymore.

The most popular today are easily erected frame-panel houses, trimmed with clapboard or boards. With the right approach and layout, it is quite possible to build a very comfortable house, even for living. The sleeping place can be placed on top, thereby freeing up a lot of space that can be used for purposes of interest to you.

To make it easier to climb up, a ladder should be provided.

So, having placed the sleeping bag on top, you can freely put a small kitchenette and, if desired, a shower.

And so, before the start of construction, the author cleared the building site, also marked it out and began to create a foundation, which he would make from 200x400x200 blocks. First, a hole is dug and filled with sand, spilled with water, compacted, then blocks are laid out.

The beams are laid on the resulting foundation, sheathing is made and covered with plywood. You should also lay a layer of waterproofing in the form of roofing felt.

It is best to coat the wood with impregnation, so it will last much longer.

After impregnation, the assembly of the frame begins.

The walls are covered with sheets of plywood.

The roof is simple gable.

Sheets of plywood are also sewn over the sheathing, this is necessary in order to later lay the soft roof.

Then the windows are inserted.

And also the doors.

Insulation material is sewn onto the walls over the plywood.

The inside of the house is insulated with mineral wool.

There is also a layer of insulation, and then it is finished with clapboard.

The main work was completed, the house turned out to be good, but as you can see in the photo, the construction dragged on for a long time, for obvious reasons, either there was no money, or there was a catastrophic lack of time, it had to be completed in a snowball, so to keep warm, the author installed a gas convector to heat the room.

This is what it looks like with the cylinder connected.

A suburban area is not only land with a vegetable garden and plantings. Many city residents come there for a good rest, so it is necessary to have a house on the site. Not all summer residents have the opportunity to build a comfortable house on six acres. Many people get out of this situation by choosing the option of building an economy class house.

Inexperienced and novice summer residents are faced with the question of choosing cheap materials for construction. Below are examples of inexpensive and cozy country houses with visual photos.

Where to start construction

Any construction begins with a plan on paper. The house outside the city is not intended for year-round living, but for the sake of comfort it requires familiarization with the standard project.

Among the projects of country houses, the ones with an attic or attic are in the lead. This option allows you to avoid building outbuildings on the site. All equipment and work tools are stored in the attic. In addition to such a house, you can add a veranda or terrace that serves as a dining room.

Strip foundation requires more time and costs. The positive side of it is that it allows you to use the room under the floor as a basement.

The next stage of preparation is the material of the “box” of the future building. There are several types of inexpensive and reliable building materials:

Frame-panel structures

The frame is mounted using timber and sheathed with wooden boards of fiberboard or chipboard. Expanded polystyrene, glass wool or polystyrene are used as insulation. The result is a house with minimal costs that can be used all year round.

A house made of timber is distinguished by its durability. Construction work will cost more. When using cheap timber, you are likely to encounter the problem of building shrinkage. As a result, cracks and gaps appear. The cobbled house will also have to be insulated.

A clay house is the cheapest and easiest construction option. Construction materials are right under your feet. The construction technique is similar to clay sculpting.

The downside is that the construction process is too time-consuming. It will take several seasons to build a clay dwelling.

The trailer is common among new summer residents. The best option for living in the summer or during the construction of a comfortable house.

Construction of frame structure

Frame construction belongs to the low-budget category. Building a country house with your own hands without the help of specialists will not be difficult. If all the necessary materials are ready, the work will last several weeks.

To build a house you will need:

  • beams for the frame;
  • screws and corners;
  • wooden chipboard or fiberboard;
  • insulation;
  • piles for the foundation.

Stages of building a frame house

At the marked places, piles are driven in the corners. Install concrete or brick supports under the joints of the walls. Then they are covered with waterproofing material and tied with a channel.

A lattice of beams is laid around the entire perimeter. Wooden logs are placed on top of it at a distance of 50-60 cm from each other. All parts are secured with corners and self-tapping screws.

Next, vertical racks are mounted, firmly resting on the lattice grille. The finished frame is tied and attic logs are placed on top of it. Next comes the work of covering the frame with wooden slabs. At this stage, holes are left for windows and doors.

Now you need to decide on the choice of roof for your country house. Most summer residents choose gable and pitched roofs. To save money, the second option deserves more attention. When building a roof, do not forget about vapor barrier. The roof will be inexpensive sheets of corrugated board or ondulin.

External cladding is done using siding. Before this, the outer walls are insulated with special materials. Instead of plastic windows, ordinary wooden ones without double-glazed windows are installed. This approach will significantly reduce the cost of construction.

With the help of simple and simple tips, your country home will be ready for use in less than a month. Those who do not have enough time for construction can contact a construction company, which will offer to build a turnkey cottage for an affordable price.

A few words about the interior

No matter how the house looks from the outside, the inside of the country house must meet all the requirements of modern times. Gone are the days when dacha dwellings were used for cooking and sleeping.

Relaxing at the dacha means, first of all, comfort and organization inside the house. There are many budget-friendly ways to satisfy your most desired interior design needs.

Country - rustic style in the interior. Here you can’t do without cabinets and shelves covered with curtains with embroidery. Crocheted napkins, tablecloths and rugs made from old clothes will look good.

Having your own home is every person’s dream. Some people need an apartment, others need a detached house. As for the latter, we can say with confidence that houses are an expensive pleasure.

There is still a way out, since you can build a small house, but at the same time very functional and comfortable.

In addition to the fact that a small house can be used for permanent residence, it can also serve:

  • Like a country house for relaxation;
  • As a small cottage;
  • A guest house on the territory of the main residence.

The construction of a small home requires much less money, material and labor, but at the same time small houses can look no less presentable than large housing options. Small housing has its own characteristics, as well as pros and cons, which will be discussed below.

Features of mini-houses

Mini-houses, of course, are more advantageous in relation to ordinary houses when it comes to money, because for the construction of mini-homes the monetary costs are lower. When it comes to space for rooms, a medium-sized home wins.

But you can look at all this from a different point of view. If finances are limited, then you need to use your imagination. A mini-house has one very good feature - it involves organizing not rooms, but places for certain things.

By and large, for a normal life you need:

  • Place for cooking;
  • A place to sleep, relax;
  • Place for “washing” procedures;
  • A place for gathering guests.

If you have some work to do, then with a laptop, book or anything else you can perfectly sit by the window, on the sofa or at the kitchen bar.

In fact, the space can be single, but divided into “compartments”. The sleeping place can be organized according to the principle of a bed, under the ceiling of the house.

Advantages

Even a mini-house can become a real pride for its owner. Such housing has many advantages that cannot be ignored:

  1. Maximum functionality. Every square meter of space is used for something. For example, built-in wardrobes under the windows, shelves along the walls, drawers under the bed.
  2. Optimal price. Even a young family can afford such a house without taking out a loan, but subject to the accumulation of funds.
  3. Minimum utility costs. The area is small, which means the costs for electricity and heating will be significantly lower.
  4. Repairs will also be cheaper. If, for example, a plastered foundation cracks or something happens, say, to the roof, then restoration will require much less money and other resources.
  5. If desired and possible, the house can be transformed. What does it mean? You can make an extension in the form of another room, or go up and build a second floor. It’s great when, with limited initial opportunities, you can build a small home, from scratch and your own, and then gradually build it up if necessary.

Flaws

Yes, there are also disadvantages that relate to:

  1. House area. It turns out that in a mini-house there is absolutely no place to disperse: there is no way to gather a large group, there will be no place to engage in sports or other types of active activities.
  2. Close proximity of rooms, thin walls- this is all discomfort in some way for every family member, even if it’s just two people. Sometimes it is necessary and useful to be alone, think about some important points, or simply engage in mental activity so that nothing distracts you again.

Take a ready-made project or create it yourself?

When the choice arises about what is the best thing to do: use the services of professionals or do all the calculations yourself, it is worth noting that the finished project has many advantages that cannot be ignored.

Here they are:

  1. Specialists will carefully inspect the site for future construction and identify all its features that the owner may not be aware of.
  2. They will listen to all the customer’s wishes and implement them as accurately as possible in the finished project. The customer is freed from the puzzle of how to make his wishes come true. For example, questions may arise about combining the corridor and the kitchen, and how to do this more competently. Here we are talking about zonal planning.
  3. Calculate construction costs. The final amount can be adjusted with the customer to the monetary figure that he can afford.
  4. Turnkey project specialists will purchase all the necessary materials themselves.
  5. All construction and repair work will be carried out.

Materials used for mini-houses for permanent residence

Mini-dwellings can be built from completely different materials. For example, a frame house is one of the popular options. The construction technology is simple - erecting a frame and then filling it with panels.

This structure has many advantages:

  1. You can get creative and create not only a standard shape for the house, but also a more convenient and unusual one, so to speak, “for yourself.”
  2. Time, labor and monetary costs are minimal.
  3. A frame-type house turns out to be light, but at the same time very reliable.
  4. Thanks to modern panel manufacturing technologies, the home is safe in all respects: fire safety, environmental friendliness.
  5. With such a house it will be possible to save on its maintenance.

Also, it is worth noting that small houses are also built from such traditional materials as brick or wood. More on this below.

Brick

Brick houses have been popular for a long time. Why is this type of material still preferred?

This can be explained for several reasons:

  1. Durability of brick. Service life over 50 years.
  2. Strength and reliability of the structure. Even for a small house it is necessary to pour a solid concrete foundation.
  3. For safety reasons, a brick house is less vulnerable to fire.
  4. Aesthetic appearance.

Tree

A wooden mini-house can be an excellent option or. D Wood is a natural material that undoubtedly has many advantages:

  1. It is an environmental material;
  2. Provides excellent microcirculation of air - the house “breathes”.
  3. Provides good thermal insulation: warm and dry in winter, optimal coolness in summer.
  4. A wooden house is easy to heat: it heats up quickly and also retains heat.
  5. Thanks to the naturalness of the material, a special woody aroma hangs in the air - creating a special atmosphere of coziness and comfort.

Domilion (oval house)

Domillions belong to the category of mini-houses. These houses are mostly oval in shape. They are made in a minimalist style, but have maximum functionality.

The advantages of such housing:

  1. Of course, the price. Material for construction is used to a minimum, as well as working time.
  2. The space of such a house is used to the maximum - there are no corridors, only the division of space into multifunctional rooms.

Features of Domillions:

  • The houses look very unusual, reminiscent of fairy tales. They have bright colors and a rounded shape.
  • They have large windows. This feature is explained by the fact that the space is planned out as much as possible, so the light should penetrate, so to speak, into all corners of the house.

Trailer house

The mini-home on wheels is of American origin. Its main advantage is that it is mobile. This arrangement is convenient for those who constantly travel and cannot “sit” in one place.

Like all other mini housing options, trailers are as compact as possible: there are few rooms, maximum 3. This includes a sleeping area, a kitchen with a living room and a bathroom.

Solutions for interior placement in a mini-house

The mini-house project must be carefully designed, since due to the limited space, every square meter must be used to the maximum. If this is a one-story building, then the distribution of space occurs not only in the horizontal plane, but also vertically.

What does vertical mean? For example, you can arrange a sleeping place under the ceiling. Access to it will be provided by a portable or folding decorative ladder. In addition, the space under the ceiling can be used to place many things on shelves.

If the house has a second floor, under the roof of the house, then it can also be used functionally. Make drawers underneath and also mount them into the wall.

Mini-housing in itself is interesting in all respects, because in a small area you need to manage to place everything you need for life, so to speak, to competently organize the space. There are many facts about mini-houses that make you truly surprised when you hear about them.

Here are some of them:

  1. In England, a small house (just over 17 m2) was put up for sale at a price of more than 1 million rubles per m2, if immediately translated into our money. This tiny building, thanks to a rational approach, housed all the essentials, with each separate room for specific amenities.
